The head of the Municipality of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, inspected the works for the transformative project in the Kombinat area. The new neighborhood in this area will offer suitable and contemporary conditions for housing families affected by the November 26 earthquake, also serving as an urban center with quality apartments, educational facilities, etc.
Veliaj expressed confidence that 2025 will be the year when the problems caused by this natural disaster in the capital will be put an end to, adding that the project will bring a qualitative revival to the Kombinat area.
“The goal is to do a job for good! We need to go to over 1,000 apartments to finally close the story of the earthquake and make sure that the 2024-2025 budget year is the year we end one of the biggest dramas that the government and the municipality did not cause, but the nature and manner of the earthquake caused a lot of damage. The question is: not how we fall, but how fast and how we get up. In a record time of 5 years and with a qualitative increase, with these apartments not only a new house begins, a new life begins, a new community and a new neighborhood for our Kombinat”, said Veliaj.
The new area being built in Kombinat will guarantee sustainable development and suitable housing for the affected residents. Residential buildings with 6 and 8 floors are planned to be built in this area. The area will have urban squares interspersed with housing, pedestrian and bicycle paths, while the construction of housing will be intertwined with the construction of educational facilities.
