The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, has accused Serbia of helping Russia, in order, according to her, to distract attention from the war that Moscow started in 2022 against Ukraine and to open “a new front against the West”.
During the participation in the Summit for Democracy in Copenhagen, Osmani said that democracy in the world is under trial, as according to her, autocrats are constantly attacking democratic values.
She said that Kosovo sees its future in the Euro-Atlantic family and will not stop working on the road to Euro-Atlantic integration.
But, according to Osmani, neighboring Serbia is trying to help Russian President Vladimir Putin push his agenda in the Western Balkans.
“As you know, Kosovo borders Serbia, a country that not only recently, but especially recently has proven to be an extended, very loyal hand of Russia, which tries to play [Russian President Vladimir] Putin’s games with them in Western Balkans opening a new front towards the West”, said Osmani.
“Because this distributive effect with which Russia would achieve distraction from Ukraine, this would be very necessary for them. So, the work we do together with our allies, because as you know we have a NATO presence in Kosovo, to ensure that Kosovo remains safe and stable, is something we do every day, every hour”, added the President of Kosovo.
