Albania partially suspends visa waiver agreement with Belarus

Albania has partially suspended the visa waiver agreement with the Republic of Belarus. The decision was taken at today’s meeting of the Council of Ministers, with the proposal of the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs.

The Decision of the Council of Ministers clarifies that the partial suspension of the agreement extends only to diplomatic and service passports.

“In support of Article 100 of the Constitution and Article 30 of Law No. 43/2016, “On International Agreements in the Republic of Albania”, with the proposal of the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, the Council of Ministers decided: The partial suspension of the agreement, between the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Albania and the government of the Republic of Belarus, for the mutual removal of visa requirements, approved by decision no. 152, dated 19.2.2020, of the Council of Ministers.

  • The partial suspension of the agreement extends only to diplomatic and service passports. This decision enters into force immediately and is published in the “Official Gazette”.
