The Croatian army has sent a new military contingent to Kosovo. The Croatian minister says that maintaining peace in Kosovo is a guarantee for the stability of the region.

Croatia has increased the presence of its troops in the international KFOR mission in Kosovo. In the barracks of the First Guards Brigade “Tigers-Croatia” the departure ceremony of the members of the 41st contingent was held.

The deputy commander of the NATO-led KFOR mission, Brigadier General Federico Bernaka, praised the role of Croatia in this mission, whose troops control the Slatina airport.

Earlier, Croatian Defense Minister Ivan Anushič stated that the situation in Kosovo is not good and this is shown by the fact that his country is sending armed forces. He said that the KFOR mission will guarantee security and stop the phenomena of violence that have occurred in the last year in the country.

Croatia is one of the 28 countries that are part of the KFOR mission in Kosovo. About 151 troops of the Croatian army carry out the mission in several strategic points of Kosovo. Alliance forces have 4,443 troops in Kosovo, Italy has the largest number of troops with 1,322 troops.
