The development of tourism in the country has created new needs for the road network in the country. For this reason, the government is taking measures not only with the opening of new roads, but also with their management through technology.
The development and efficient use of roads will serve tourism, which is experiencing rapid growth from year to year. For this reason, the government has launched an awareness campaign for all users, even setting up an application that will help them in real time.
Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku said that the need to increase the road network in the country has come as a request from foreign tourists, who need to be informed how to get from one destination to another.
“The need for re-transportation arose as a request from foreign tourists who come to Albania and need to be informed about how to get from one destination to another,” said Balluku.
About 4.5 million vehicles are expected to circulate in Albania this year, and for this reason, work will be done on traffic management and other controls.
The ministers also talked about the new roads that will be opened this year, such as the Llogara Tunnel or Thumanë-Kashar, and the investments that will be made in the future in order to ensure safe traffic.
