Health and Social Protection Minister: We have taken measures for a healthy tourist season

The Minister of Health and Social Protection, Albana Koçiu was part of the activity organized in the framework of the opening of the tourist season together with the 300 doctors and nurses who will be part of the 34 Summer Health Centers throughout the country.

In her speech, Koçiu emphasized the commitment of the government and the Ministry of Health and Social Protection to ensure a safe and healthy tourist season for everyone, as concrete steps have been taken to guarantee the well-being of citizens and tourists visiting Albania during this summer season.

“34 seasonal health centers open and ready to operate, National Emergency ready to serve, the Operator of health care services with all the challenging recruitment process is ready, the mission of the Social Security Institute with all the hygiene and sanitary measures has been at the top of the task, the Institute of public health with the challenging process of disinsection where we added over 20 hectares this year and where we were from north to south in all the hot and problematic areas is ready”, said Koçiu.

Minister Koçiu emphasized that “it is not only the seasonal centers that respond to the entire flow of tourists and vacationers, but we also have health centers, regional hospitals that are also supportive when there is an emergency or a need for a more specialized service. All structures are in full operation”.

Tourism is a sector of extraordinary importance for the country and the Ministry of Health and Social Protection has announced that they have taken all measures to support a tourist season that according to all indicators, after the 10 million tourists of the previous year, will set a new record in 2024.
