Salaries in the private sector are about 25% lower than those in the state administration. The figures come from the Institute of Statistics for the first months of the year, where the average salary in the state is 88 thousand ALL, while in the private sector 68,700 ALL.

Despite this gap, the average salary has increased by 9,000 ALL, or 14% over the course of a year, reaching 73,600 ALL.

The salary increase has been stimulated by last year’s reform to bring the average salary in the state to 100 thousand ALL at the end of this year, where the pressure on the private sector is also noticed.

According to sectors, managers, judges, politicians, specialists with higher education and the armed forces receive the highest salaries in Albania, on average ranging from 80 thousand to 110 thousand ALL.

On the other hand, employees in trade, agriculture, artisans and assembly workers, most of whom are part of the private sector, are paid less, with a monthly average of 40 to 50 thousand ALL.

We remind that in Albania 800 thousand individuals work with contributions, of which 130 thousand are part of the state administration.
