Albania is officially the 36th member state of the Helsinki European Center of Excellence Against Hybrid Threats (Hybrid CoE).

During his visit to Finland, Foreign Minister Igli Hasani signed the memorandum of understanding, while describing Albania’s membership as an important step in Albania’s commitment to common security with NATO allies and EU member states.

“Only through open communication and mutual support can we develop effective strategies to counter these complex challenges and protect our countries’ democracies,” he said.

According to the director of the European Center of Excellence, Teija Tiilikainen, Albania’s membership completes the membership of NATO countries, for a unified approach against hybrid threats.

On the second day of his visit to Finland, Minister Hasani had a conversation with the Friendship Group for Albania in the Finnish Parliament.

The Albanian chief diplomat emphasized that Albania is grateful to Finland for the strong support of the EU enlargement policy and the EU integration of the Western Balkans.
