The President of the Republic of Albania, Bajram Begaj, during his stay in Skopje, held a meeting with the Prime Minister of the Republic of North Macedonia, Talat Xhaferi, this Thursday.

During this meeting, President Begaj congratulated Xhaferi for fulfilling the constitutional obligations and the success achieved in the realization of the last elections in North Macedonia, which fulfilled all the democratic parameters as fair and indisputable.

President Begaj praised the commitment and decisive role of Albanians in the processes of state formation in North Macedonia, stressing that interstate and intercommunity cooperation is the key to regional success and stability.

President Begaj described the relations between Albania and Macedonia as excellent at the political level, while he proposed their expansion in other areas of mutual interest, such as in the economy, in commercial and cultural exchanges, in the energy and tourism sectors.

The President of Albania emphasized that we must work hard to advance the projects started in these fields.

Also, President Begaj appreciated the cooperation of the two countries in regional and international organizations.

The foreign and security policy of Albania and North Macedonia is aligned with that of the European Union, – stressed President Begaj.

President Begaj expressed the belief that it will be continued in this way towards the finalization of the common journey of the two countries, with EU membership.
