Global Anti-Corruption Coordinator Richard Nephew visited Albania today and held meetings with the head of SPAK (Special Prosecutor’s Office), Altin Dumani, SPAK prosecutors, as well as representatives of BKH, the High Inspectorate for Declaration and Control of Assets and Conflict of Interest (ILDKPKI) and the Public Procurement Agency.

Through a post on social networks, the US Embassy shared the news and announced that Nephew and Albanian officials discussed ongoing efforts to strengthen the independence of the judiciary and the fight against corruption.

The announcement also states that the US will continue to support the justice institutions, which, according to them, are strengthening Albania’s democracy, as it progresses on its way to the EU.
