The EU envoy for the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, Miroslav Lajčák, speaking about the Draft Association of Municipalities with a Serbian Majority, said that he would never propose something that he would not also propose to Slovakia.

In an interview for Sbunker as part of the “Kosovo Dispatch” Podcast, Lajčáksaid that there is no reason to be afraid of the European Draft, writes Express.

“I like the discussion which is based on facts. So it’s really good to talk about what’s in the document. And you know, several important countries asked the Government of Kosovo to send this draft for review to the Constitutional Court, which is certainly the best way to see how much this document meets the constitutional requirements”, said Lajčák.

“So this is certainly, I would say, a logical proposal for the Government. So there is no reason to be afraid of this document, because as I said, we would and I personally would never propose something that I would not propose for my country, or that I know will not fulfill European standards, European values and European practices”, he further added.

In this interview for Sbunker, Lajčák also talked about the history of the drafts that were made public and that were presented in Brussels. The Slovak has mentioned the draft of the Management Team, saying that it was not acceptable either to the Kosovar side or to the European Union.
