President Bajram Begaj in the speech given on the occasion of the US Independence Day, during a ceremony organized at the American embassy in Tirana, said that “Albania is deeply inspired by the American principles of freedom and democracy”.

Begaj said that the United States has strongly supported Albania’s membership in NATO and the process towards integration into the European Union.

“It is a special pleasure to address you today on the Independence Day of the United States of America. This date stands in the history of humanity as a monument of commemoration and honoring the values ​​of freedom, democracy and human dignity. In 1776, the founders of the United States of America made a bold statement: “All men are created equal, and have such inalienable rights as life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.” Albania is deeply inspired by the American principles of freedom and democracy. The relationship between Albania and the United States is evidence of the lasting power of these principles and the profound influence they have in determining the destiny of a nation, our nation. The United States has strongly supported Albania’s membership in NATO and the process towards integration into the European Union. This support has been essential in strengthening democratic institutions and the rule of law, promoting economic development and strengthening our security,” said Begaj in his speech.
