Prime Minister Edi Rama has reacted to the assassination of former President Donald Trump in Pennsylvania.
Through a post on social networks, Rama says that it is disturbing to see that a candidate for president in the USA is shot during a rally and where one person remained a victim.
Rama calls this a tragedy for the democratic world.
“It is disturbing to see a candidate for President of the United States shot during a rally and to hear that one participant has died, and several others have been injured. This is a tragedy for the democratic world. My thoughts go out to former President Trump and his family. We all hope that this terrible event will unite America and all the people of the democratic world against all forms of violence”, writes Rama in X.
President Bajram Begaj expressed his regret over the assassination attempt on President Donald Trump during an election rally in Pennsylvania.
President Begaj strongly condemned “this attack and any form of political violence that has no place in democracy”.
“I learned with regret the news of the attempted assassination of President Donald Trump. I wish President Trump a speedy recovery and my sincere condolences for the loss of an innocent life. We strongly condemn this attack and any form of political violence that has no place in democracy”, – said the President of the Republic on his account on the X network.
Even the leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, reacted to the attack on the former American president.
“Dear friends, a criminal hand last night fired a series of shots in an assassination attempt to kill President Donald Trump. This ugly criminal act happened during President Trump’s speech at an election meeting in Butler, Pennsylvania. From the shooting, President Trump was injured, but his life is out of danger, and one participant in the rally was killed and two others were seriously injured.
The assassin, identified as Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20 years old, was killed by the Secret Service.
“I condemn with the greatest severity this hateful criminal act against President Donald Trump as an act that seeks to determine and defeat the free will of US citizens through assassination, political murder in the electoral campaign. On this occasion, I express to President Trump and his family and the Republican Party, my most complete solidarity and that of the Democratic Party of Albania, and I pray for his speedy and complete recovery. I wish that anyone who may be implicated in a heinous terrorist act will be found and receive the strictest legal punishment”, wrote the leader of the DP, Sali Berisha.
“I condemn in the strongest terms the gun attack on President Trump, who fortunately escaped the assassination attempt in Pennsylvania, which unfortunately also caused innocent victims.
I join in praying for the families who lost loved ones and for the speedy recovery of President Trump who took a bullet for his ideas and vision to make America Great Again.
Full solidarity with President Trump, whom I wish to return as soon as possible even stronger in his unstoppable battle for the protection of the values of the USA and the friendly American nation!” wrote on his Facebook page the president of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta.
