Former Chief Democrat Lulzim Basha has published the national priority of the Tourism program.
In a video shared on Facebook, Basha states that following the regional models, a good part of the workforce in the tourism sector will be subsidized, as well as 4 professional schools focusing on this sector will be opened.
According to him, another priority will be the improvement of the internal road network of the national infrastructure, making it possible to put the Adriatic-Ionian corridor into operation free of charge.
The other two pledges that Basha mentions are the removal of tolls on the National Road, as well as the rehabilitation of the road axis Shkodër-Tropojë-Kukës-Dibër-Librazhd-Përrenjas-Pogradec-Korçë-Ersekë-Leskovik-Përmet-Gjirokastër which is known as national eastern ring.
Below is Basha’s full post:
Tourism is a national priority in our program:
According to the most advanced regional models, we will subsidize a good part of the workforce in the tourism sector, for the off-season, to enable them to have income throughout the year and their families to stay in Albania;
We will open 4 professional schools with a focus on tourism;
We improve the internal networks of the national infrastructure by making it possible to build and put into operation the Adriatic-Ionian corridor free of charge at the end of the first governing term;
We will remove the payment for every car on the National Road;
We make possible the rehabilitation of the road axis Shkodër-Tropojë-Kukës-Diber-Librazhd-Përrenjas-Pogradec-Korçë-Ersekë-Leskovik-Përmet-Gjirokastër, which is known as the national eastern ring.
Infrastructure development and our low tax platform will enable tour operators, freed from the high cost of poor infrastructure and high central and local government taxes, to have a competitive tourism offer for the region and for tourists around the world.
