Gjirokastra Castle continues to be the most visited monument by tourists in Albania, while 60,000 visitors were registered during the month of August.

Most of the tourists who visit the Argjiro castle are foreigners, but local visitors are also interested in its values ​​and history.

“In 1993 I was here, when I came today I saw a lot of changes in Gjirokastra and in the castle, the cleanliness, that this is a tourist place and it is the place of festivals for all Albanians and it is an attractive city for every Albanian,” says an old man.

“I come from Argentina, it is the first time I visit Albania and this very beautiful castle, I have visited many castles in different countries but this one is wonderful, I recommend everyone to come and visit Gjirokastra and the city’s castle because it has to be beautiful experience and pleasure,” says a tourist.

“We are a group of young people from the Czech Republic who are enjoying visiting Albania and this castle, it is really a special castle,” says another tourist.

In addition to the stone fortress, Gjirokastra has a variety of tourist guides with cultural monuments, natural and historical values, which also attracted a high number of visitors during the summer.
