With an average salary of 950 euros, Albania is the first country in the region for the financial treatment of teachers. However, in relation to the European Union, the payments remain modest.

The average salary of teachers in Albanian country has reached 950 euros per month. This figure appears in the declarations of the Minister of Education, after the last salary increase in the public administration in July, where 31 thousand teachers also benefited.

In annual terms, the average gross salary of a teacher reaches 11,400 euros, and the increase is 3 times higher than in 2021, if we refer to the Eurydice study on the benefits of teachers in Europe, when salaries varied by country from 4,000 to 70,000 euros per year.

In Kosovo, teachers benefit from 680 euros since 2023. In Serbia, the system pays 100,000 dinars or 850 euros at the exchange rate, and in North Macedonia, the average payment is 700 euros.

The educational policies of the countries differ, but in the financial assessment, during the last years, Bulgaria has made a revolution by bringing the annual salary to 40 thousand euros, with an increase of 117% since 2017.
