From September 18, 300 NATO troops will be deployed in Kosovo.
This new deployment comes as part of training, said KFOR, which it calls routine, while in the short statement no details were announced as to why this decision was made or in which place they will take place.
The military contingent comes from the Royal Yorkshire Regiment and will carry out a series of training activities, together with other KFOR troops.
KFOR has announced that the exercises are aimed “to test the existing procedures for the rapid deployment of additional troops and their integration within the mission”.
The NATO peacekeeping mission in Kosovo has announced that the exercises will support KFOR’s readiness “to respond to possible security developments”.
We remind that KFOR is present in the north, near the Ibri bridge.
Meanwhile, the International Community has requested the authorities in Kosovo to refrain from such an action, while the NATO mission and the European Union have requested that the bridge issue be resolved through dialogue.
