“Water Drop” movie by Robert Budina represents Albania at “Oscar” awards

The Albanian film “Water Point” (Pikë Uji) has been selected to represent Albania in the competition for the Oscar, in the competition for the Best International Film at the 97th edition of the Academy Awards, the National Center of Cinematography announces.

This film, directed by Robert Budina and written by Robert Budina, Doruntina Basha, Ajola Daja, is an exciting thriller that explores the psychological world of a powerful mother, who finds herself forced to face a ruthless system of manipulation to protect her son.

The film raises the essential question: how far can a mother go to protect her child?

Produced in 2024 by EraFilm, “Water Drop” holds the audience for 91 minutes, which in Albania had an extraordinary reception.

The main cast consists of Gresa Pallaska (Aida); Arben Bajraktaraj (Illyria); Gerhard Koloneci (Ben); Adem Karaga (Elvis); Paolo Iancu (Mark); Henri Topi (Denis).

The film is expected to have its international premiere at the category A festival and then it will be shown in the cinemas of the Balkan countries, Spain, Italy, Austria and Germany, expanding its audience beyond the Albanian borders.
