Albanian Foreign Ministry reacts on Banjska’s attack 1st anniversary

The Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs of Albania has reacted regarding the 1st anniversary of the terrorist attack by the Serbian armed group in Banjska of Zveçan in Kosovo.

Through a post on the ‘X’ social network, the Foreign Ministry recalls the sacrifice of the Kosovo Police officer, Afrim Bunjaku, who was killed during the exchange of fire.

The Ministry also writes that it is unacceptable that those responsible for this attack are still at large.

It is also written in the announcement that Albania welcomes the decision of the Kosovo Prosecutor’s Office to file an indictment against the suspects for “organizing and carrying out this brutal attack”.

Today marks one year since the terrorist attack by the Serbian armed group in Banjska, where the police sergeant of the Kosovo Police, Afrim Bunjaku, was killed.

Remembering with respect, the sacrifice of Afrim Bunjak, Albania supports Kosovo in its efforts and achievements, for the establishment of the rule of law throughout the territory of the country.

It is unacceptable that the perpetrators responsible for this crime still remain at large. Justice must be served without delay or excuses.

Albania welcomes the decision of the Kosovo Prosecutor’s Office to indict the suspects for organizing and carrying out this brutal attack. Accountability is key to preventing de-escalations and consolidating peace throughout the region.
