In the village of Roshnik of Berat, the fair of organic products of the area has been organized. All the farmers of 13 villages exhibited their products, from dried fruits to wine and brandy. But the most famous product that has given voice to the area is the Roshnik fig.

Farmers are satisfied with this year’s production. Thanks to the quality of the production, the traders have increased the demands to buy the entire quantity produced.

“Our figs go everywhere, and we are happy especially this year for the figs, the time has been extraordinary, the interested people come and take them from us. We agree year after year, it’s not that we have problems”, says a farmer.

“It’s hard, it’s tiring work, but we’ll make it. It took a while, but it’s still good. The country makes it, it suits the country, it cannot be made in another country, the merchant comes and takes it himself”, says another.

Another farmer of the area shows the reasons why the production is good. He owns an area of nearly 500 fig roots, but off-camera shows the fact that the villages lack manpower, making it difficult to care for them.

The village of Roshnik, which has about 4,000 inhabitants, is located at the foot of Mount Tomori and has favorable conditions for the cultivation of fruits, vegetables and orchards. In this area, about 70 hectares are planted with fig varieties and tens of other hectares are grape vineyards.
