This is a figure that has also satisfied the tourist operators in the city. They show that tourists come mainly from Europe, but there are also tourists from different countries of the world.

Germans, Poles and Czechs are the tourists you mostly meet during this time in the lake city. They choose to visit Pogradec in this season because of the tranquility it offers.

“I am from the Czech Republic. We came by plane, we rented a car and we want to explore Albania. We started from Pogradec, then to Tirana. We came to Pogradec to see the lake and the natural beauties. Then we will go to Gjirokastra. What attracts us is the tranquility and the cooking”, says a tourist.

According to Gani Bego, who works as a tourist guide, foreign visitors are mostly looking for hiking and cycling.

According to official data, during the period January-August 2024, 95,800 visitors were accommodated in Pogradec, nearly 10 thousand visitors more than the same period of 2023.
