The lack of labor in Albania as a result of mass migration has made Albanian companies look for workers around the world.

Only in one construction company in Pogradec, which works on the road axis Qukës-Qafë Plloçë, several Indian citizens, among them engineers, shunters and simple workers have been employed for a long time. Two of them, engineers by profession, share their experience in Albania.

“I came here for work, to try a new experience. There is a big difference between working here and working in India. I have been working here for 2 months, I am an engineer. The people here are fantastic, helpful and very cooperative at work. I want to stay long, if the company allows me, I can work here for 8-10 years. The salaries are very good,” says Anuj Upadhyay, an engineer.

“I have 5 years of work experience as an engineer. In India we follow other standards but this kind of experience serves us well. I found the job online. I didn’t come just for the salary, but to work in a good place and why not, settle here forever because they pay us well”, says Vinay Challapalli, Engineer.

Even the Albanians express surprise with them, with their desire to work and the fact that they are very effective at work.

21 Indians work in this construction site alone, who, in addition to work contracts, have also been provided with accommodation by the Albanian company.
