The government is reintroducing the “Albania 1 Euro” offer for the second time. This time, it will focus on mountainous areas, where businesses are invited to invest in projects that will stimulate development in the eastern part of the country.
After the coastal areas, mountainous zones will also be developed with new investments. To encourage the construction of resorts, tourist complexes, or other businesses that create long-term jobs, the state will offer public properties to the private sector at the symbolic price of 1 euro.
The draft law has now been put up for consultation, and priority will be given to individuals who can prove they have been using the state-owned property for more than 10 years and present a business plan for its development.
This initiative for the development of the eastern part of the country follows the investment program in “100 Villages,” with the motto “Invest in Your Land, the Mountain Package.”
It is worth noting that, in an effort to revive the economy in mountainous areas, Prime Minister Edi Rama has called on emigrants to return, while there is also an active strategy from the Ministry of Agriculture to expand businesses operating as “Agro-tourism,” which directly or indirectly employ local residents.
