Justice High Inspector travel to Sweden for a working visit

The High Inspector of Justice, Artur Metani, made a working visit to Stockholm, Sweden, where he was accompanied by the Ambassador of Albania to Sweden, Albana Dautllari, and with the High Inspectorate of Justice delegation (ILD).

During this visit, Metani held meetings with representatives of the Parliament, the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Sweden.

In these meetings, he presented the function and role of the High Inspector of Justice in Albania, emphasizing the importance of strengthening the rule of law and the contribution of this institution to the process of Albania’s membership in the European Union.

In the meeting with the committee on EU affairs in the Swedish Parliament, Metani met with the chairman of the committee, Erik Ottoson, and the deputies of Albanian origin, Aida Birinxhiku and Arbër Gashi, discussing the independence of institutions and democratic developments in Albania.

Also, in the meeting with representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, including Cecilia Ruhström-Ruin and Björn Linderfalk, the progress of the justice reform and the role of the ILD in this process were examined.

At the Ministry of Justice, talks with Anna-Carin Svensson focused on the work standards of magistrates, public trust in the justice system and the exchange of experiences.
