A mass poisoning of citizens has occurred again in the area of Dibra. According to preliminary information, it is reported that about 100 people, including children, presented with the same symptoms of poisoning and received service at Peshkopia hospital.
Physico-chemical analyzes of the water were carried out, but the results did not provide any clear information about the cause of the poisoning.
Meanwhile, a bacteriological analysis is expected from Tirana to investigate the situation more deeply.
Currently, five people are receiving the necessary help at the regional hospital of Peshkopi, where they are being treated for the symptoms of poisoning.
Authorities continue to monitor the situation and have launched investigations to find the possible source of the contamination.
“The Dibra Police Station has received notification that some citizens (among them some minors), residents of the Dibra municipality, had presented themselves at the regional hospital of the city of Peshkopia, for medical assistance with symptoms like those of poisoning.
Upon receipt of the notification, the investigation group was set up and under the direction of the Prosecutor’s Office, the investigations began to clarify the circumstances and determine the cause of the poisoning.
At the end of the investigations, there will be more detailed information”, the police announcement states.
