13 PERSONS INJURED IN THE PROTEST
13 police officers and citizens were injured during Monday’s protest in Tirana, organised by the opposition. Police arrested 3 people for throwing Molotov cocktails, while 9 others are wanted.
BERISHA: STRIKES AND CIVIL DISOBEDIENCE
The Democratic Party warns of further protests. Its leader Sali Berisha has declared there will be strikes and civil disobedience in several cities of the country, until the opposition’s demand for a caretaker government for the next elections in 2025 is fulfilled.
DEPUTY OF SP IN SPAK
The Special Prosecutor’s Office calls to interrogate the deputy of the Socialist Party, Jurgis Çyrbja. The lawmaker has been asked to answer questions related to the Democratic Party’s denunciation of alleged abuses at the Durrës property registry office when he was its director.
PRESIDENT ERDOGAN IN TIRANA
Rexhep Tayyp erdogan is expected to visit Tirana on Thursday. The President of Turkey will participate in the inauguration of the largest mosque in the Albanian capital, built with funds from the Turkish government.
RAMA: FLOOD MEASURE
Flooding in the city of Vlora on October 4 damaged hundreds of homes and businesses. Prime Minister Edi Rama has called on municipalities and the Ministry of Defense to set up a new response system for civil emergencies.
