The headlines from Thursday 10 October:

  • The President of Turkey, Rachel tayyip Edrogan, has asked Albania to fight the Gulen Moevment, also known as FETO, describing them as terrorists. From Tirana, he described the conflict in Gaza as a shame for humanity and demanded more pressure on Israel.
  • Turkey will donate kamikaze drones, military weapons and training for armed forces personnel to Albania. Prime Minister Edi Rama also thanked President  Erogan for his help and financing for the largest mosque in the Balkans, inaugurated in Tirana on Thursday.
  • Only two days after appearing at the Special Prosecutor’s Office, where he was questioned for more than 5 hours, the deputy of the Socialist Party, Jurgis Çyrbja, has announced his resignation. In the document submitted to the Assembly, he said he has chosen to leave office due to health reasons
  • A cannabis warehouse was discovered in the Selita area of ​​Tirana. The drugs were found on the second floor of a privatized building, one floor above the offices of the state cadastre. Police have arrested several individuals.
  • The Albanian national football team has finished its preparations for the upcoming match with the Czech Republic. The team’s players say they are confident of victory in Friday’s match.
