Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama, paid an official visit to Hungary this Friday.

During the joint press conference with Prime Minister Viktor Orban, Rama revealed the two agreements that were signed between the two countries in the field of agriculture and public administration.

Rama thanked Hungary for the support given to the integration of Albania in the EU and added that Tirana looks at Budapest as a model for the application of reforms.

“We all know that Viktor Orbán is the easiest person to blame for everything that happens in the world, but for me Orbán is the most pleasant person to talk to about things in the world.

I am pleased to express my deep gratitude for what the presidency of the EU Council has done for us, making it possible for us to open a whole set of chapters for negotiations in a few days. We will enter a phase of integration that is advanced.

It is the moment to thank someone else who is not part of the Hungarian government, Commissioner Varhelyi, who has accompanied us these 4 years in this progress. It is a pleasure to come to Budapest, as we have always looked to Hungary as an example for the internal reforms undertaken.

Even today we talked about how we can expand this cooperation, which is one-way help from the Hungarian side towards us. Today we signed two agreements of understanding in the field of agriculture and in the field of public administration.

Hungary’s experience is very important for us. We also talked about investments and I told the prime minister that we feel honored that the number of investments coming from Hungary is unusual. It is about 350 million euros, which is a significant figure for our economy”, said Rama.

The head of government invited Hungarian companies to invest in the field of tourism in Albania.

“Tourism is another objective. We are seeing more and more Hungarian citizens coming to our shores. We want to have not only Hungarian tourists, but we also want investments in tourism to follow and have the Hungarian flag in Albania. We like the Hungarian flag very much and we don’t see it as if it will conquer us”, said Rama.
