A bomb alarm was reported this Monday near the Ukrainian Embassy in Tirana, causing an immediate increase in security in the area.
Multiple police forces were dispatched to the scene, including the explosives unit, which was called in to investigate and neutralize any possible threat.
Police cordoned off the area to ensure the safety of the public and embassy staff, while specialized units carried out detailed checks.
According to the sources of Euronews Albania, the bomb alert near the Ukrainian Embassy was received through an email sent to the embassy’s address.
After the investigations carried out by the anti-explosive unit and the detailed control of the building, it has been confirmed that the alarm was false.
After the verifications, the embassy staff returned to the building and the situation is now back to normal. The police continue their investigation to identify the source of this false alarm.
