The person in charge, Nancy VanHorn, met again this Thursday with the chief prosecutor of Prosecutor’s Office (SPAK), Altin Dumani, to evaluate the achievements of this institution in the fight against corruption and organized crime at the highest levels.
During the meeting, they discussed the importance of cooperation between SPAK and other institutions, such as the police, courts, prosecutions, vetting offices, inspectorates and councils, to ensure that each institution contributes with independence, dedication and integrity.
Post of the American Embassy in X:
“Charge Nancy VanHorn met again with SPAK Chief Special Prosecutor Altin Dumani and praised SPAK’s achievements in successfully prosecuting corruption and organized crime at the highest levels.
Ms. VanHorn and Mr. Dumani discussed how SPAK and NBI cannot do this work alone and must rely on institutions such as the police, courts, prosecutions, vetting offices, inspectorates and councils to do their part with independence, dedication and integrity.
This is essential for the protection of the achievements that Albania has made in the rule of law, a key part of the EU membership process.”
