“Mother Teresa” University Hospital Center (QSUNT) is twinned with the largest Israeli hospital center, “Sheba Medical Center”, a strategic partnership which will contribute to increasing the standards of health services for Albanian citizens.

The cooperation agreement was signed in the premises of the ministry by Minister Albana Koçiu and CEO of “Sheba Medical Hospital”, Yitshak Kreiss.

“Thanks to the agreement signed with “Sheba Medical Center, experts from this hospital will be attached to the Oncology Hospital assisting our doctors in the treatment of difficult cases, in real time through telemedicine”, said Albana Koçiu, Minister of Health and Social Protection.

Strengthening cooperation with such centers of excellence for the minister is seen as a key link of the Autonomy program that has begun to be implemented in 6 hospital centers in the country, and which step by step is expected to be further expanded to 17 such.

“Another agreed point in this agreement is the provision of training and familiarization of our doctors and nurses with the most innovative therapies and equipment. This cooperation agreement of QSUNT with the prestigious “Sheba” hospital runs parallel to the major project of Hospital Autonomy and Dual Practices for doctors”, said the minister.

The cooperation between QSUNT and “Sheba Medical Center” will help to raise the standards of health care in Albania as well as support the efforts of MSHMS to transform the University Hospital Center “Mother Teresa” into a genuine center of excellence.
