The former member of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA), Shukri Buja, said that the Office of the Specialized Prosecutor in The Hague has acquitted him of all charges and concluded the investigation against him.
Buja, former mayor of Lipjan, said that the investigations against him, which started in 2019, were concluded and he was officially notified of this during this week by the Specialized Chambers.
“This is a great and important victory, which proves my innocence, but also the purity and glory of the KLA,” Buja wrote on Facebook, stressing that he was officially notified of this
“This is the first closed case for criminal war crimes investigated by this Prosecutor’s Office in an official manner,” he added.
In recent days, Buja appeared before the Specialized Chambers as a Prosecution witness in the case against the former leaders of the KLA.
Before leaving for The Hague, Buja had informed the public that he was going to The Hague, where the Specialized Chambers of Kosovo are based “against his will”.
