About 200 candidates have expressed interest in running for the position of Head of the Commissariat. Women are also included in this competition, for whom it remains to be seen which of the country’s 48 police stations will be entrusted with this task. Also, all the current chiefs of police stations have rejected their candidacy.

The State Police will make public on Monday the list of names for the Chief of Police. The committee for the selection of candidates will consist of 3 members: a representative from the Ministry of the Interior, one from the State Police and one from the Security Academy.

Candidates must hold one of the ranks of the first management role, have no serious disciplinary violations and have no conflict of interest in the exercise of the duty. The application evaluation committee will evaluate the candidacies within 10 days in order to verify compliance with the legal conditions.
