Foreign trade is bringing less income to the Albanian market. In October, our country collected 31 billion ALL from the sale of goods, or 15% less than the income of the previous year. Foreign trade shrank by 15 percent in October, with the value of exports falling to 31 billion ALL.

The tendency for Albania to earn less lek by selling goods to other countries started in 2022, with fluctuations after each month, which were mainly influenced by the fall of the euro. However, the fall seems to have slowed down, if we compare it with in September when exports increased by 1%.

On the other hand, INSTAT data show that in September, we not only sold less, but also bought less. Imports of goods reached the value of 77 billion ALL, decreasing by 1.5%, compared to a year ago.

If we talk about the 10-month period, exports of goods reached the value of 317 billion ALL, decreasing by 14%, compared to a year ago, while imports of goods reached the value of 743 billion ALL, increasing by 2%, compared with a year ago. According to goods, construction materials, metals, textiles, minerals and fuels have had an impact on the decline in sales.
