The Kosovo police said they found weapons, uniforms and other military equipment during an operation in a village in the municipality of Zubin Potok, in the north of Kosovo.

According to the announcement, the Police was looking for a suspect, identified by the initials S.M, who is wanted in connection with a drug laboratory found in the village of Qukiq a few years ago, when weapons were found in the location where he was suspected to be.

“The suspect was not found in the location where he was suspected to be, but in his property, namely on the mountain in a place covered with uniforms and other military equipment,” the announcement said.

The police said that during the search, other military equipment was also found buried in three other places.

Police said they found military uniforms, parts of long rifles, tactical vests, gas masks, a pistol barrel, a pair of handcuffs and 1,471 different calibers.

A day earlier, the Kosovo Police also announced that they found a significant amount of weapons during checks in Zveçan.

The police said that this case concerns a person of interest, who is suspected to be connected to the Banjska case.

In September last year, in Banjska of Zveçan, a group of armed Serbs attacked the Kosovo Police, killing Sergeant Afrim Bunjaku. During the exchange of fire, three Serbian attackers were also killed.

Since the attack in Banjska, the Police has announced several times about the finding of weapons and military uniforms in the municipalities in the north of Kosovo, inhabited by a majority of Serbs.

Likewise, in the north of Kosovo in recent years, the authorities have announced the discovery and destruction of several drug laboratories.
