The meteorological situation in Vlora worsened on Friday with heavy rain and strong wind.
Waves have reached heights of up to 2.5 meters causing sea navigation for small craft and fishing gear to be suspended. Ferries with the line to Italy are closed today according to the schedule.
But if they didn’t have it and the sailing for them would have been suspended. The strength of the sea in the open sea goes up to 8 points while in the bay 6 points.
As a result of the worsening weather and strong wind, there is a lack of electricity in the villages of Dukat, Brataj, Gjorem, and in the National Park of Llogara.
This phenomenon, which has caused these areas to remain without power, is a recurring problem year after year whenever there are bad weather conditions.
The lack of energy is mainly due to the outdated and inadequate electrical network to deal with these severe weather conditions. The consequences of this problem are obvious, as many residents and businesses in these areas suffer from frequent outages.
