The “whisper” of some strong women has been shown in Korça at the Digital Arts Gallery, a theatrical performance as much as a multimedia show in the technological hall.

Directed by Driada Dervish, this play was intended to show the suffering and pain of ordinary women who have been violated or even killed by their husbands.

“These are stories of women who have survived or not gender-based violence, it comes precisely to the 16 days against gender-based violence. I regret to say that the cases of sexual harassment in Korça have increased in recent years and it is problematic where we artists have a voice and these Whispers of women can turn into a stronger voice to prevent and react”, says Driada Dervishi, director.

The paintings brought in a special form, with movement, in the 360-degree hall, realized by Elga Miter, made the show tangible for every viewer.

“The message I want to convey is that women can overcome violence, there is a lot to be done by society to overcome this violence, now it has started to emerge, people are more aware and speak up. I think that the work with awareness should not stop at any moment”, says Miter.

This is not just a show, but a painful piece of Albanian reality, says the talented actress Alesia Xhemalaj

“This is a very strong performance with a message that belongs to everyone. It is up to us to say something. It starts with your little house, neighborhood, school, work. There isn’t a day that you don’t drink your morning coffee and you don’t see such cases,” says the actress.

The show was attended by well-known actors Zamira Kita, Rudina Dembacaj, Suela Bako and other Albanian actresses, including a foreign actress, who showed that the same difficult situation exists in Montenegro, Croatia and Serbia.
