For almost 3 years, the manufacturing sector in the country is experiencing a difficult business climate. Due to the devaluation of the euro, many companies have closed. Some others have introduced timing technology into production, and this has come at a cost. In figures, the pro-export association says that over the course of a year, the fashion industry has lost around 10,000 employees.

In 2023, the industry counted 60 thousand employees. The work profile in the production lines has mainly been girls and women, and for the association that protects this industry, this year is expected to close with 50 thousand employees and a drop in turnover of up to 5%

Fasons work with the foreign market and due to the fall of the euro, their export balances have shrunk. To protect them from possible bankruptcies, the government has offered them sovereign guarantees in the amount of 1 billion ALL. Those businesses that needed financing for investments benefited from this guarantee, but not the businesses that were in difficult financial conditions, which may be the reason why the aid did not give an efficient result.
