With the motto “Shkodra n’feste”, the northern capital is welcoming many local and foreign tourists this December.

The activities started with the lighting of the festive lights in the square in front of the Shkodra municipality, where the party town was created, with over 30 facilities that offer different services from culinary to entertainment for children.

“Shkodra returned during December to the capital of holidays for the whole of Albania. In cooperation with all tourist businesses of Shkodra, especially hotels but not only, restaurants and hostels, an increase in demand to come to Shkodra to enjoy these holidays has been noticed. Shkodra is always beautiful, even more so these days when there is a Christmas market in the center of the city, but during the day tourists can enjoy the city, the castle, Shiroka, and they can also go to the Alps”, said Renato Lumci, tourism director of Shkodra municipality.

Sara Smaja, the head of culture at the municipality of Shkodra, reveals to Euronews some of the details of the organizations in Shkodra this year-end.

“The calendar of activities is diverse for December. There are over 20 concerts that will be held in the square in front of Shkodra’s town hall. The concerts are varied, I can say that there are singers with Albanian voices who will perform in the square in front of the town hall. I am discovering some names that I believe will soon become public for the general public, with the concert of Alban Skenderaj on December 21, we have a concert from Capital T on December 28, and also from the singer Dafina Zeqiri. Our local artists will certainly be at the concerts, who will have concerts every weekend”, said Sara Smaja, director of cultural activities in the Municipality of Shkodra.

The activities will continue until the night of the new year when the fireworks show will take place at midnight.
