A joint session of the Assembly of Kosovo and the Assembly of Albania was held in Pristina. The Prime Minister of the country, Albin Kurti, in his speech expressed his happiness for the meeting of the two assemblies of Kosovo and Albania.
“Our two states, even though they were founded at a distance from each other, are political expressions of the same centuries-old Albanian aspiration for the preservation of identity and national unity”, he emphasized.
Kurti spoke about some of the joint achievements where he said that Albania is the main trading partner of Kosovo. He also mentioned the common energy market, movement without border controls, new border crossings, the opening of customs offices, and other achievements.
The Prime Minister also stated that there is still a lot of work to be done.
“We have a lot of work to do, as a government and as an assembly for the citizens of our two republics. Kosovo and Albania are contributors to peace in the Western Balkans region”, he emphasized.
Kurti also spoke about Kosovo’s membership in NATO, saying that now more than ever membership in this organization should be done, while emphasizing that “We believe that we have Albania in our arms to overcome the obstacles to NATO membership.
