Prime Minister Edi Rama hosted the diplomatic body accredited in Tirana today at the traditional end-of-year dinner.

While underlining that 2025 is an election year, Rama emphasized that regardless of who the Albanians will vote for, the country will stick to the values and principles of the Euro-Atlantic community with the same goal, EU membership.

“As we approach a new election year, I am sure that questions about the upcoming general elections will quickly take place in your papers and reports. I believe, I have a pretty good idea who will be the winner, but, jokes aside, I can assure you that, regardless of which political party the Albanians will vote for, they will all decide to stick to their values and the principles of the Euro-Atlantic community, promote the achievement of the historical objective of becoming good and proud members of the united European family, support individual freedoms, the rule of law and democracy.

These are non-negotiable commitments that go beyond the age, gender, province or political belief of Albanians. Albania does not have a plan B, but only an indisputable and indisputable plan, that of joining the European Union.

Within this decade, we will give everything we have to make this a reality.

However, it is close that we want to be friends, good and loyal friends, with all the others around this table, who live, work and increase well-being across the borders of democratic Europe, like for example the fraternal countries of the Gulf, whose political system is different from ours, but with which we have a strong relationship and I hope and pray that it will become even stronger”, said Rama, among other things.
