Donating blood is the most precious gift for thalassemic children this year-end.

Such a gift was given to the children by the believers of the Evangelical Brotherhood in Elbasan. According to representatives of this belief, this donation is made not only as a gift for thalassemic children, but also to show them that they are not alone.

“It is a beautiful tradition that we have done with the evangelical churches of Elbasan District to give hope and love to children. To tell them that they are not alone, just as God did not abandon us”, said the pastor – Ilirian Gjoni.

For the doctors and the leaders of the Red Cross, donating blood, the vital fluid for thalassemic people, there is no more precious gift, not only on this holiday eve, but always.

“We can say that we have a stable situation in terms of blood donations, because we already see that people are more sensitized. Even on the eve of the holidays, they join in the spirit of donating and giving the gift of life. And what could be more beautiful that on this eve of the holidays people give such a precious gift to people with thalassemia, to donate something from themselves which is blood, the vital fluid”, said Viola Shano, head of the National Transfusion Center of Blood in Tirana.

Doctors say that there is a decrease in the number of people registered with thalassemia in recent years. But the need for blood is still not met. Each of us can become someone’s hero by donating blood.
