“The Nutcracker” is the ballet of holidays, dreams, magic and love that returns this year on the stage of the Opera and Ballet Theatre.
The iconic Christmas ballet, with Tchaikovsky’s inimitable music, brings the holiday and warm atmosphere to the cold December, as well as the fairy tale with a happy ending,
A fairy tale with a happy ending comes to life thanks to the soloists and the ballet troupe under the choreography of Edi Blloshmi, the students of the ballet school, the female choir and the choir of white voices, the symphony orchestra of TKOBAP, under the magical direction of Sergio Alapo and the costume design glittering of Edlira Kyshka.
The two young men enter the Kingdom of Sweets, where the Fairy awaits them at the Royal Palace. She asks the Nutcracker to tell her all his adventures and how he won the battle against the rat king. Soon after, all the courtiers perform in a series of dances that make up the most famous and well-known variety of Tchaikovsky’s music and that make the ballet famous, culminating in the well-known Waltz of the Flowers.
The ballet ends with the famous Waltz of the Flowers, and the dream ends: as soon as she wakes up, as the day is breaking, Clara thinks back to her magical dream, with the Nutcracker tightly held in her arms.
With a new production, the magical show will run until December 30 at 7:00 p.m.
