Hundreds of local and foreign tourists have chosen Gjirokastra to spend the end of the year holidays. They say that the atmosphere in the stone city is quite festive and that it is nice to spend the winter holidays in Albania.

Colorful decor has been added to historical, constructional values, rich traditions, making the city more attractive.

“I love Albania, it is the second time I am in your country and we decided to visit Gjirokastra this time because there are many tourists in the summer, I think everything is beautiful here”, says a foreign tourist.

“I like Albania, we decided to come here and visit this city as a surprise for the holidays, we are enjoying the first day of our tour and let’s discover the beautiful things that await us”, says a foreign girl.

“I think it is really nice to spend the winter holidays in Albania, in this city December is full of illumination and light, the end of the year celebration is quite beautiful in Gjirokastra”, says the tourist.

“It’s a beautiful city with people who celebrate pleasantly, full of joy, I think the atmosphere here gives you a pleasant feeling”, says another tourist.

Throughout this year, the city of Gjirokastra and its surroundings were visited by about 700,000 tourists, 80% of whom were foreigners, making tourism the promoter of the development of the local economy.
