Prime Minister Edi Rama held this Monday the year-end conference with journalists, where he focused on the political situation in the country and the work done by the government during the past year.
In his speech, Rama announced that Albania will host the NATO Summit in Tirana in 2027.
The head of government said that the president of the United States of America and other world leaders will be in Tirana giving a clear message about Albania’s position in the international arena.
“Even more unthinkable until a few years ago was the hosting in Tirana of the NATO Summit in 2027, something for which we have started working together with NATO. A mission to inspect the conditions of infrastructure and logistics has come to Tirana and made assessments that would have been impossible in Tirana before the government in alliance with the Municipality of Tirana built whatever it has built in this decade. The arrival of the President of the USA and all NATO leaders is at the same time a clear message for everyone related to Albania and related to our new political position in the international arena. We are a small country. We have a modest weight, but today we are treated as equals and with a respect that we have never had in our history,” said Rama.
