The team of doctors at the memorial hospital in Fier successfully performed the emergency thrombectomy procedure on a patient whose life was at risk.

This technique is realized for the first time in the public system by enabling the removal of the blood clot in the brain artery and restoring its flow. Timely reaction of the doctors enables the minimization of neurological damage and the saving of the patient’s life.

The intervention was carried out by a multidisciplinary Albanian and Turkish team.
