In the last month of 2024, confidence in the economy has decreased. In the survey of the Bank of Albania, consumers and businesses did not show the optimization of the previous months, reducing the economic sentiment indicator by 3.8 points.

According to sectors, the indicator of confidence in services has decreased by 5.5 points. This is due to the declining assessments of businesses for the current progress of the activity and for the current level of demand. Meanwhile, expectations for employment levels and future price developments have been revised upwards. The industry confidence indicator also fell by 1 point, influenced by pessimistic estimates for industrial production.

Even the deals in trade and construction have been finalized with a drop in confidence. Trade was mainly influenced by expectations for prices and employment in the future, while trade was influenced by current activity.

On the other hand, the citizens also say that this year they do not expect to make big purchases and significantly increase their family income.

But, even though confidence has fallen in all sectors of the economy, its level remains above 8 percentage points above the historical average.
