A tragic event happened in Genoa, Italy, where two sisters of Albanian origin fell from the window of their apartment on the fourth floor of a building. As a result of the fall, one of them, 31 years old, died on the spot, while her 34-year-old sister was injured and is in hospital in a serious condition.
The incident happened on Tuesday morning and the Italian authorities are investigating the causes of the incident. The window from which the sisters fell is small, a detail that has led investigators to suspect the possibility of suicide, however the event still remains unclear. Investigators are looking into the possibility that one of the sisters may have tried to kill herself, while the other may have fallen trying to save her but also fell.
Neighbors have helped the police with their information, indicating that they heard a noise and saw a woman lying on the ground in the entrance corridor of the building. After a few minutes, they saw that the other sister had also fallen on top of her.
The two sisters, who were in the apartment together with their children, were helped by the children, who opened the door to enable the arrival of the police.
Another important detail is that the 31-year-old woman, who lost her life, was expected to appear on January 10 for a hearing regarding the custody of her five children, who were entrusted to her ex-husband.
