Prime Minister Edi Rama announced today the establishment of direct flights from Israel to Albania.

In a post on X, Rama emphasized that this step constitutes an extraordinary opportunity for the development of cultural, touristic and economic relations between the two countries.

“This is great news for the further strengthening of relations between Israel and Albania!”, writes Rama, adding that direct flights will not only make travel more convenient, but will also open doors for cultural exchanges, tourism and business opportunities.

Rama emphasized the historical connection between the two nations, particularly Albania’s heroic role in sheltering Jews during World War II, as a foundation for a deeper and more lasting friendship.

“Encouraging Israelis to explore Albania’s breathtaking landscapes, vibrant traditions and growing economy will undoubtedly foster stronger friendships and partnerships,” he stressed.

He also expressed his gratitude to the president of Israel, Isaac Herzog, for his commitment to strengthening Albanian-Israeli ties and for the support given to increasing business opportunities between the two countries.

“Grateful to an extraordinary man, an inspiring leader and my dear friend, Isaac Herzog, who brought with him to Albania a group of outstanding Israeli entrepreneurs and for his encouraging words to the Jewish business community,” added Rama.

This news is an important step for improving relations between the two countries and for strengthening possible partnerships in the future.
