The U.S. Embassy in Pristina have said that today’s actions of the Government of Kosovo to close the parallel institutions of Serbia in several municipalities of Kosovo, directly and negatively affect the ethnic Serb citizens of Kosovo and other communities and may undermine the aspirations of Kosovo to join the Euro-Atlantic community.

“The actions of the Government of Kosovo to close institutions run by Serbia directly and negatively affect the citizens of Kosovo – ethnic Serbs and other communities – and may undermine Kosovo’s aspirations to join the Euro-Atlantic community,” told for the newspaper Express a spokesperson for the US Embassy in Pristina.

This spokesperson of the American Embassy further states that these actions were done against the American advice and as such weaken the trust and limit the possibilities of the USA to help Kosovo for a better future.

The Minister of the Interior of Kosovo, Xhelal Sveçla, said that this Wednesday morning the parallel municipalities of Serbia and the post office were closed. According to him, the action took place in ten municipalities.

Lipjan, Obiliq, Pristina, Fushë Kosovë, Vushtrri, Novobërde, Kamenica, Viti, Rahovec, Skenderaj, as well as the illegal tax office post office, are the locations where the parallel municipalities of Serbia have been closed.
